The Balmoral and Terrace Guest Houses are both locked using a key pad for security reasons. On your arrival you will have to ring the bell so a member of staff can let you in. Once you are booked in your room you will be given the code for the front doors which will allow you to get access back into either guesthouse at any time day or night.

FROM THE SOUTH - using A1(M)
Leave at Junction 62 and turn right onto A690 for 6.3 miles at junction turn left onto A19 for 3.3 miles then turn right onto A11231 at signpost for Sunderland North. Stay on the A1231 for 2.5 miles. Continue on B1289 for 1.2 miles turn left and then follow the local roads for 0.8 of a mile.
FROM THE NORTH
join the A1 from the A69 travel past the Metro Centre and the Team Valley Trading Estate then take the trun off to the A194(M) which is 5.9 miles from the Metro Centre. Turn onto the 1231 for 6.9 miles towards Sunderland. Continue on the B1289 for 1.2 miles then turn left and follow the local roads for 0.8 of a mile.
